Laura Townshend

I’m a writer, voiceover artist, and lover of the arts. Audio description allows me to combine my skills in writing and voiceover, to help others experience the joy of the arts too. So it’s the perfect combination!

I have a BA in Drama and an MA in Applied Theatre. My MA dissertation focused on creating theatre and entertainment for blind and visually impaired people. I’m passionate about inclusivity and in the past I co-ran a sensory theatre company, Sensus, which toured around special schools.

I’ve been working as a copywriter for 15 years, and I’m a drama school trained professional actress.

I have my own voiceover booth at home, so I can record remotely.

I’ve had experience audio describing brochures for the Orange Tree Theatre, and I’m hoping to do more brochure work, as well as work in TV, Film, Theatre, and Museums/Exhibitions.
