Magan Harms

International

Magan Harms is the Director of Audio Description and A.D.A. Coordinator at MindsEye, a non-profit organization in the United States. MindsEye builds a more inclusive community by translating vision into audio for individuals who are blind or partially sighted through audio description, radio information services, and adaptive athletics.
Magan started first as a volunteer with MindsEye in 2017 and was hired in 2019 to take over the audio description program. She is also an AD script writer for 3Play Media. In 2021, she was the recipient of the American Council of the Blind (ACB) Audio Description Achievement Award for an individual in the field of performing arts. In 2022, Magan was part of a four-person live description team for the Beijing Paralympic Games for NBC and USA Networks provided by Descriptive Video Works.
Although the majority of her time is spent working with venues, describers, and quality control specialists, when she has the opportunity to provide audio description, her favorites are describing Major League Baseball, museum and gallery tours, English language operas, and puppet shows. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, stitching, snacking, studying, writing an art history blog, and is obsessive about Cardinals baseball.
