Marta Żaczkiewicz

I am a PhD candidate researching media accessibility for blind and visually impaired audiences. I have over 14 years of professional experience in audio description and work as both an audio describer and a subtitles editor for the d/Deaf and hard of hearing.

I regularly deliver workshops on audio description and lead Blind and Deaf Awareness training sessions in Poland and abroad. I am also the president of the Open Culture Open Art Foundation (www.fundacjaokis.org), which promotes inclusive practices in the arts and media.

I am a co-author of a training manual on how to educate blind consultants in audio description. An English version of the manual will be available soon.
